Probably built around the year 996, Villa Erba has had many lives. Originally a monastery it was refurbished and transformed by the owners that passed it on. General Pino, a man of great military virtues and, at the same time, a lover of pomp, brought numerous improvements and had a hall frescoed with his coat of arms, which is still visible.

In the early 1900s film director Luchino Visconti was born and lived with his family at the Villa. This brings us to the famous Leopard (1962), which enjoyed public and critical approval: the scenography of the rooms was inspired by Villa Erba’s evocative atmosphere. In the 1930s the photographer Piero Vasconi produced a documentation of the rooms of the fabulous 19th century residence.

This destination wedding on Lake Como was very special, family and friends gathered at Villa Erba arriving from Indonesia.

Our beautiful bride Gabby was styled by Hian Tjen, with a superbly elegant embroidered dress, she joined her future husband walking down the aisle surrounded by an incredible flower set up in the tones of white, perfectly arranged by amazing floral designer Vincenzo Dascanio.

A very felt and emotional blessing ceremony gave way to the aperitivo held on the steps outside the beautiful façade of the villa and accompanied by Musica Evento with instrumental jazz.

Andrea Alba wedding planner from Italian Weddings and Events took care of every precious detail, she is one of the best Italian wedding planners you can find, a lovely person that creates amazing work environment for her team and all the vendors of this unique wedding on Lake Como.

The dining room at the reception was out of this world, white flower arrangements matched the incredible sparkling chandeliers hung from the ceilings that met the elegantly lit candles on the tables.

During the reception Musica Evento’s Gatsby Jazz Band came alive, bride and groom had their first dance on the soft notes of Corinne Bailey Rae’s ‘Just like a star’. The groom’s father and his brothers are amazing singers and they gifted us with some incredible performances with our band!
